Aktrapid Nursing Agency, a trusted name in healthcare staffing, partnered with us to digitally transform how they manage and deploy their nursing and support staff. The objective was to build a robust, intelligent workforce management solution CareConnect that streamlines shift allocations, enhances communication, and improves overall operational agility for aged care facilities and healthcare providers across Australia.
The solution includes a modern, cloud-based Member Portal for managing clients, member profiles, and allocations, as well as native mobile apps for iOS and Android, purpose-built for Aktrapid’s field staff. Members can accept or decline shifts in real-time, receive instant push notifications, use biometric Face ID login, view upcoming schedules, request uniforms, and track travel time via in-app maps. The platform’s intuitive design and real-time backend integration empower both agency staff and healthcare workers with efficiency, visibility, and control bringing Aktrapid’s commitment to quality care into the digital era.

We built native mobile apps using Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) to ensure optimal performance, security, and responsiveness. The backend was powered by .NET 8 with a Domain-Driven Design (DDD) architecture and integrated with PostgreSQL for structured data management. Hosted on AWS cloud infrastructure, the system leverages services such as Amazon RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch for reliability, scalability, and observability.

Using WebSockets and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), the app supports real-time shift availability updates, push notifications, and instant sync between members and the agency. This ensures zero delays in confirming or releasing shifts critical for fast-paced healthcare environments.

We integrated Google Maps SDK to offer real-time navigation, travel distance, and estimated time directly within the app. This enables caregivers to view client locations, assess travel time, and improve punctuality all without leaving the app.

The app supports passwordless login using Apple Face ID and Android 3D biometric authentication, offering secure yet seamless access. Role based access control and end-to-end encryption ensure that all personal and shift-related data remains protected and compliant with Australian privacy standards.

We followed a CI/CD-driven QA pipeline, combining automated unit tests, UI testing, and manual UAT cycles across multiple devices and OS versions. This ensured that every feature from shift acceptance to uniform requests performed reliably in real-world conditions.



Release & Post-Launch
CareConect launched on schedule across iOS and Android, with full onboarding and training provided to ensure a smooth transition. We offered three months of post-launch support, resolving issues quickly and fine tuning the platform based on real user feedback.
Since its release, CareConnect has become a critical tool in Aktrapid’s operations boosting shift fulfillment speed, streamlining communication, and reducing admin overhead across the board.
